Every thrill described by E. W. Hornung m his great 'novel, ' "Dead Men Toll No Tales/ has been transferred to the film, and the picture will be shown to-night at Brooklyn.
The .Salvation Army is preparing for a special celebration of tho Easter season. A convention for tho deepening of spiritual life has been planned to take place, commencing on Good Friday and concluding on Easter Monday. The first part of the effort is to take place at Vivianstreet Citadel, at 10 a.m.; on Good Friday, continuing throughout the day and evening, and will be conducted under thp leadership of the Divisional Commander. Major Burton. Tho whole of the Army's forces will be uniting for the occasion. The City Council has granted the use of the Botanical Gardens and band rotunda for the continuation of the Army's effort on Easter Monday.
A benefit concert will be given in Our Theatre, Newtown, to-morrow night, in ■aid of the widow and eight children of t.ho late Mr. George Clark. The services of the Wellington Waterside Workers' Band, Signor Luoien Cosaroni (basso profundo), Mr. Stanley Warwick (elocutionist), and other 'Wellington artists have been secured. Patrons are offered «■ sood cvoiiing'a- entertainment, and iva opportunity to assist a good cause.
