The famous Ansaldo shipbuilding and iron-working yards at Genoa, known as the Krnpp's o£ Italy, are closing down, throwing out of work from thirty to fifty thousand employees. This decision is said to be due to Socialist interference and the Government's imposition of a war profit tax amounting to five hundred million lire, which have made it impossible to resume operations ou v peace basis.
