As tho outcome of the recent accident at Lower Hutt, which resulted in the death of a child, the Borough Engineer at last night's meeting of the council made recommendation! which, in his opinion, will minimise the risk to children when leaving the footway of. the bridge. The matter was-referred to a special committee to deal with. Mr. T. M\ Wilford was in Mastcrton last night in connection with organisation work in relation to the Masterton electorate. So far a candidate in the interests of tho Liberal-Labour Party has not been announced..
