YOUNG WOMAN'S DEATH
An open verdict was returned this morning by the Coroner (Mr. \Y. G. Riddell, S.M.), after hearing evidence at tlio inquest regarding tbe death at the Wellington Hospital on Friday morning of a young woman named Eva Simes. The inquest wjs opened on Saturday, and concluded to-day. Detective-Sergeant Andrews represented the police. Evidence was given by Walter Edwin Simes, a brother o!' the deceased, who carries on business as an auctioneer in Christchurch. The deceased was not in any financial .difficulties, but recently she had suffered a nervous breakdown. Some ■ three months ago she had left Christfiliurch for Wanganui, and the fanv.lv had not heard from her finco. Dr. H. A. H. Giliner. also gave evidence. Tho Oo'onnr found that death was duo to general peritonitis, following septio premature, l»l>our.
