The San Francisco correspondent of the New York Wtu'ld states that Roscoe Arbuckle has revealed that his private fortune has gone as the result of the | tremendous expenditure for his defence. He received an ornately decorated ■cheque-book on the occasion of his 35th birthday, but said ruefully that he liad jiot enough money now to write one cheque, much less the whole book' full. Arbuckle was formally a lavish spender, and lived in extreme luxury, but at present he is living quietly. The Italian Fascisti threaten to murder every Russian Bolshevik who arrives at Genoa. The Italian Communists threaten to retaliate on the Fascisti. A London message reports the death of Father Hopkins, " the Sailors' Apostle." He was prominently identified with the Sailors and Firemen's Union.
