PETONE CLUB.

A match that has Been looked forward to with interest was fired on Saturday, when the town and country members ot the Petone Rifle Club" mot at Trentham. Some interesting shooting resulted. At 500 yards Morris; for the Town team, led off with a good 47. but Nicholl, with 49 and Scott 47, made up leeway, for the Country team, and led at the first range, the total being: Country, 349; Town, 342. At 600 yards the light was poor, and bull's-eyes were at a premium. Scott, for' the Country, put on the good score'of 46, which gave him a total of 93. E. Ballinger also fired well, and with 45 made a total of 90. R. Nicholl got the. same total. The Country team maintained its position at the longer range, scoring 320 points to 312. and won by 15 points. J, Scott, F. AVilliams, and E. E,. Hicks won the spoons in their respective divisions.
