TN response to urgent appeals for As- -■- sistance ior Russia's Starvinjr Millions, a large and representative meeting ! was held in the Mayor's Room at theMARCH* 11 °n WEI>NESDAY' fche 82nd ; It was resolved that appeals be made for Funds at once, and that Churches, s>ports Bodies, Schools, and all other organisations be asked to assist. In view of the startling revelations from Russia concerning the many millions of persons who are starving, I earnestly appeal to Citizens to contribute to this Fund as generously as possible. There, caa. bo no doubt that the condition of affairs in Russia and it-he 1 amount bf distress is unprecedented in the_ 'history .of the. world. Many mothers in' Russia are willing to give up their lives in order that their ohildren may be preserved, and I moat earnestly, desire to stress ' the urgency of this appeal. .The smallest.con-, tnbutions will be gratefully- • accepted. ■ , Mr. Collins, City Treasurer, will act as Treasurer to the Fund; and lists are now of>on at the Town Hall, and further lists will be available in a fow days.
