FATAL ACCIDENT
MAN KILLED ON THE WATEBFRONT.
Caught between the buffers of two railway trucks on the Glasgow Wharf, a man named John Wilson received such severe injuries this morning that he died' at the Wellington Hospital shortly after admission at 10.15 o'clock.
Wilson was pushing a truok on th» Glasgow Wharf, when a second truck, drawn by the hydraulic capstan, oamo up from behind. Before Wilson could extricate himself, he was caught between tho two buffers and badly crushed about the abdomen. One of the man's thighs was also smashed. The accident occurred at 10 o'clock, and the injured man Vfas at once transferred to tlia Hospital in the Harbour Board ambulance. Wilson expired shortly after admission. He was a married man with a grown-up family of six, and lived at 49. Majori-banks-streot.
An inquest is to bo held at 4 p.m. ou Monday.
A man named Richard Herlihy, employed as a carrier by Staples' Brewery, received injuries to his face this morning through a. cask falling from a cart which was boing unloaded at Lambton Station. Ho was admitted to the Hospital at 10.10 o'clock, but his injuries at» by no moans serious.
