ROYAL CHORAL UNION
A preliminary step is to be made by the Royal Wellington Choral Union with the object of federating the various choral societies throughout New Zealmd. A conference is proposed to be held in Wellington at a date to be arranged, and it is hoped that this conference will be attended by delegates from the main centres and also x from the numerous smaller societies which are springing up in almost every town of importance in the Dominion. The committee of the Choral Union has decided that the following works would be performed:—For the firsts concert, "Maritana" will be presented in the Town Hall about 25th May. For the second concert, Haydn's "Creation" will be performed. It is probable that the choruses of the Wellington and Hastings Societies will combine to produce "Creation." which work will be presented towards the end of August. An invitation lias been sent to the Hastiners Choral Society to visit Wellington and take part in this Concert.
