EVERYBODY'S THEATRE
-U. W. Griffith's great photo-pla* masterpiece, ..'/Way,Down .East," is still playing to packed houses at'JEverybody's '.Theatre, although it has charmed Wellington picture-goers for the' past three weeks. The' story ■ concerns the tribulations of a charming young- country girl who is victimised by ii' society scoundrel, and is then - ; Ik!t -. to the tender mercies of an unsympathetic world. The girl, however, eventually finds employment with a simple and happy farming family, and obtains peace and \ contentment until, through a scandalmonger, she is turned out of the house. A. terrible blizzard_ is raging, and the girl'falls unconscious 'on ■to an/icefield on a fiver. The ice breaks .up, and . the ,heroine is in imminent danger of being carried over a huge waterfall, when she is'valiantly rescued by one who has been steadfast in his love;for her. ; Charles Ray is appearing in "Scrap Iron," and an augmented orchestra renders specially arranged music during, the screening ol "Way Down. East" at the evening sessions. . ' ,
