ADRIFT IN A BOAT

A boating adventure which nearly had a serious ending occured in Evans Bay this morning. It appears that three small boys aged, between five aiidi six years were playing in a small flat-bot' tomed boat on the Kilbirnie foreshore, and were blown about one hundred yards out into the bay.

One jumped overboard, and made for the shore, and had it not. been for the plucky action of Mr. H. B. Edhbiise, of Te Whiti-street, Kilbirnie, who swam to his rescue fully clothed, the youngster would certainly have drowned.

The of the other .two lads was still precarious, but, with the assistance of twoj helpers and a' dinghy, they were brought ashore. • . ,
