, ' NELSON, This Day. Following a fire on the premises of Louissons, Lid., on Monday morning, it was reported to the police that sealskin coate had been stolen. Some of the missing goods were found in an out--house of the Masonic Hotel, ,amd) further search and observation by the police resulted in the discovery of other coats, and also of a. clue which led to the .arrest of William Balfour Hay, aged twenty-two, employed as a cook at the Masonic Hotel, as he was leaving for Wellington" yesterday. Later the police arrested. Ernest WaiFan Broa d, aged seventeen, a katcnenman, on a charge of being implicated in the theft. The accused were remanded till Monday next.
