DELHI, 7th March; General Bruce and his nephew, Captain Bruce, have arrived at Darjeeling to complete arrangements for the' forthcoming Mount Everest expedition. It is understood that in the event of failure, another attempt will be made next year. Specially picked coolies are being assembled for the conveyance of speciallypacked food 1 and other impedimenta to the various bases, and to an advanced base at a height"'of 23,000 feet. A party of expert Swiss mountaineers will later join the expedition, provided with oxygen apipai"atus for use in the rarefied air in the upper regions of the mountains. All the details are being carefully arranged from experience gained during the last expedition. '

[A message received a month ago said that there would be six climbers in the expedition—Lieutenant-Colonel Strutt, Major Norton, Dr. 'VVakeneld, and Messrs. Mallory, Finch, and Spmervell, all first-class mountaineers. Dr. Longstaff would act. as surgeon to the expedition, and Major Noel would bo the photpgrapher. The party would reach the bnse early in May, so- that the final assault, could be made- at the beginning of June, when Mount Everest was most vulnerable.] ■'-.
