TO THE EDITOR.

Sir,—.As one forming the deputation on Tuesday, when Mr. Parr absolutely refused to consider our request, I should like to make some comment. According to Mr. Cauffhloy's report in The Post ho went up to the college to inspect tho accommodation after we had seen the Minister, and the elaborate 'statement 'settles it all. There was room for our boys until a reshuffling of the forms took place, as it were. , This I take it was at Mr. Parr's instruction. Now, the powers that be have on various occasions given members of the deputation their assurance that everything was quite satisfactory, and went so far .as to inquire whther any other boys were likely to make application for enrolment from the- Hutt. Mr. Parr stated to the deputation that our boys could bo accommodated as boarders, and one member accepted the offer. To my mind the position, amounts to this—Those who can go as boarders can come along. There aro between 50 and 60 sons from different districts in New Zealand, tho majority of whom pass secondary schools in their locality. Mr. Parr and Mr. Causfhley should answer this. Mr. Ca.uprhley should also say, after the rearrangement (the lower forms total 8), does he seriously think that, an addition of two boys to each form (which would take all the" Hutt students) would in any way interfere with the working ?—I am, etc., W. B. HARDY.
