HOSPITAL BOARD

The Wellington Hospital Board held its monthly meeting yesterday afternoon. In the absence of the chairman (Mr. F. Castle), at present in Auckland, Mr. J. W. M'Ewan presided. Other members preserif were : — Messrs. J. W. Butler, J. Glover, A. R. Hornblow, A. J. M'Curdy, G. Nash, G. Petherick, E. Vine, and E. Windley, the Rev. Dr. J. K. Elliott, the Eev. H. Van Staveren, and Mesdames M'Vicar ' and Snow.

Authority was given for the purchase of a Bosh magneto (£ls 10s), 33- yards of -linoleum for the Medical Superintendent's residence (£24 15s), clearing grounds of fennel; alterations V.D. Clinic (£2l) repairs Carrara buildings (£9 15s), and repairs to roads (£l7O 10s).

Mr. and Mrs. J. D. Henry were appointed 'labourer-gardener and cookgeneral respectively at the Macarthy Convalescent Home at Melling. Accounts amounting to £7811 5s 3d were passed for payment:
