Suoh an, important band contest as that to be held , here might well attract Urge numbers of people. This will be the finest gathering of the sor' yef held in the Dominion. The big reception and musical carnival planned for Monday afternoon in the Basin Reserve- will no doubt be a popular event, but public feeling seems to be very strongly in favour of the quickstep contest on Saturday afternoon, and it is expected that the accommodation at Athletic Park will be taxed to the utmost. Those who want seats in the pavilion would do well to securo them now at The Bristol. Day sale tickets are obtainable at all leading musio stores and tobacconists throughout the city. There will bo contests daily in the Town Hall, and the final demonstration concert and presentation of prizes will take place* on Saturday evening, 18th February.
