SEATOUN WATER SUPPLY
CUT1 OFF YESTERDAY,
Seatoun' would have fared badly in case of fire yesterday. From early in the afternoon the water supply was cut off, and no tap flowed until 5.30 this morning. How people, got on for water for cooking and drinking—where there were no tanks—is a matter for conjecture. Such an experience is not, however, uncommon at Seatoun. On one occasion the whole of the reservoir was emptied, without notice, by a local industry. The personal inconvenience of yesterday's stoppage, considering the summer weather,'could not have failed to be great. Yesterday's stoppage was due to the fact that the pressure in the mains running out from the city was not sufficient to force the water into the reservoir at Miramar.
