SHARES TO REPLACE DEPOSITS.
Two amendments to the Companies Temporary Empowering Bill proposed by, the Governor-General were agreed to by. the House of. Representatives lasf night. In the first place words were added to clause 3 to stipulate that deposit preference shares shall be issued only as. fully paid-up shares.- The following new clause-was added:—"Trustees in whom the right to any existing deposits is vested are hereby specially empowered to exchange such deposits or any partthereof for deposit preference shares and to continue to hoW such shares."
