NAVY LEAGUE BRANCH

EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE MEETS.

The usual meeting of the Executive Committee of the Wellington branch of the Navy League was hold yesterday afternoon. Mr. A. F. Roberts presided. Before proceeding with business, the chairman said that, on behalf of the Executive Committee, he wished to express his regret at the death of Mr. F. Bethune and Mrs. Massey, the latter late of Newtown School. It was resolved that the sum of £2 2s be donated t» the Masterton ■ Competitions Society for a special prize for the competitions in May. In reply to a communication from Christchureh, it was decided that' the Christchurch branch be advised.-that the Wellington branch approves of, a Dominion conference this year. : ■ The report of the Ladies' Auxiliary was received. Mr. Roberts reported that already £50 Is 6d had been collected to defray the expenses in connection with the entertainment of the men of the Melbourne. Mr. B. Keesing -reported that everything in connection with the sailors' sports had been successful. A quantity of routine business was put through.
