VINDICATED AFTER TWENTYSIX YEARS.
(IUSTIULIAN ■NIW ZEALAND CAB 1,1 ASSOCIATION.) (Received December 21, 1 p.m.) SYDNEY, This Day. . .The Select Committee appointed to inquire into the circumstances of T. E. Rofe being struck off the roll of solicitors in the early 'nineties on a charge of conspiracy, has found him not guilty. Mr. Rofe, in an interview, stated: "It is the happiest Christmas I have had for twenty-six years." During the hearing of the case Mr. .Rofe stated that he did not desire to, jand would not, resume practice, but he wanted to clear his character before he died.
Several applications for his reinstatement have been refused by the Supreme Court. Prpbably the Committee's finding will bo followed by a Bill to reinstate as in the case of Mr. Meagher last year.
