MR. FORSYTH'S PROTEST.

. The following letter wae sent to-day to the Minister of Education by the chairman of the Wellington Education Board (Mr. T. Forsyth) :—

"Sir, —In the Dominion newspaper of Thursday you are reported to have said to the deputation which waited upon you with reference to the case of Miss Park:—'The-Director of Education was present at tlie inquiry, and had supplied the Minister with notes which showed that the most extraordinary methods had prevailed indicating gross biae and unfairness and predetermination of the issue.' I beg that you wilJ immediately and publicly apologise for this base slander on men in a public position who endeavoured to do justice fearlessly and regardless of pressure sought to be put upon them. I have the honour to be, Sir, yours obediently (signed), Thos. Forsyth, chairman."
