A French boy, Roland Botcazon, aged 16, assistant to Mitchell, of North Foreland, won the East Kent professional golf tournament at Westgate-on-Sea with the record score o£ 68. He was followed by Mitchell, Seymour, and Goodban with scores of 75 each. Another plague rat has been discovered -in the infected area of Sydney. Mr. J. B. Dunlop, inventor of pneumatic tires, whose death was announced a few weeks ago, left £18,000. The unemployed raided the Leigh ground, where the Australasian match was held, though the manager had previously said he was unable to admit them free. The police were powerless to prevent the raid. 1 Aitken outpointed M'Conachy at the opening session, both scoring several centuries. M'Conachy recovered later. At the close of play the scores were: Aitken 6766; M'Conachy 4002., A message from Perth states that the censure motion in the West Australian Ligislative Assembly was defeated by 30, votes to 17. f , \ ■>
