POLICE AGGRESSIVE IN ULSTER
LONDON, 22nd, December. '■ The Northern Government's resolute action has come as a great shock to the Sinn Feiners in Tyrone and Deny. Hearing that armed bands of Sinn Feiners had forced labourers, farmers, publicans, and even professional men at the revolver point to follow them, Sir James Craig determined to act strongly. Before daybreak the police in _ number of districts were ordered to concentrate in Glenally Valley, and ran down the Republicans iv the old Hibernian Hall. JVhen the Sinn Feiners left the road they took to the mountains. The Ulster police left their motor-cars, and followed thirteen, who quickly threw up their hands. These proved to be men who had been kidnapped. The police therefore continued the hunt. They were subjected to a fusillade^ from the hills, and replied vigorously. A number of casualties aro reported.
