WAIKATO MINES IDLE

(BY mSOSAPB.—PKBSS ASSOCUTIOK.) AUCKLAND, 22nd Deaember. Work at the Waikato coal mines ha* been interrupted during the last two days owing to a shortage of railway trucks. The Taupiri miners were .idle yesterday afternoon, and again this afternoon, while work ceased at Puke.miro at 2.30 p.ml yesterday and at 11 a.m. to-day. The shortage of trucks is mainly due to the usual withdrawals of a large number in order to prepare them for passenger traffic to the —lleTslie races next week.
