COUNTRY PRIVATE HOTELS. A reduction of hours of work p»r weak to 48 is provided for in the award of the Arbitration Court in the Wellington District Country Hotel Workers' dispute, the old hours being 60 fox men and 54 for girls. A full day's holiday each week is to be allowed and a week* holiday on;full pay is to be given after the employee has completed, twelve month- of service! Provision is made for the suspension of the weekly holiday for five weeks in the year, provided that a week's holiday is giyeti in lieu thereof. The rates of wages are as follow, the boajus being included :—Where five hands are employed—Chef: Male, £5 10s j female, £4 15s; second, £4 and 7s 6d; third, £2. 17s 6d and £2 7s 6d; Others, £2 10s and £2. Where four aTe employed—Chef: Male, £5; female, £4 6s; second, £3 10s and £2 17s 6d; third, £2 15s and £2 2s 6d; others, £2 lOs and £2. Where three ai* employed— Chef : Male, £4 7s 6d; female, £3, 17s '6d; second,- £3 and £2 10e; third, £2 10s and £2. Where two are employed— Chef : Male* £3 10»; female, £3; second, £2 12s 6d and £2 2s 6d., Single handed kitchqn—Male, £2 17s 6d; female, £2 7e 6d. Thesnm of 5s per week extra is to be paid to the kitchen hand who attends to the boilers. Tlie casual rates are the same as in the Country Licensed Hotel Workers' award. "Overtime is to be paid at the rate of time and a-half for,the first three hours and double time thereafter. The award .is to come into force pn 2nd . Januiirv, and will expire pn 31-1 January, 1923.
