A RHYME OF CHRISTMAS
If there came a horseman Clad in- shining mail, I would give him good cheer, I would givo him ale; I would twine a garland For his happy mirth; And ho should sing of Christmas, That l.eralds Peace on Earth. If there came a poor man In hia rags and mire, I would greet him kindly, Seat tim by, tho firb; I would fill his platter O'er and o'er again; A.nd he should sing of Christmas That brings Good-will to Men, If there camo some children To my father's gate, I would give thenx good sheer, Gifts most delicate; I. woulr. light the lanterns Where tho hollies hang; And thsy should eing of Christmas And Praise God ?& they sang. —Agnes Grczier Herbcrton.
