The National Rifle Association has now issued the 1921 results of the Imperial Challenge Shield competitions, which have been held annually throughout tho Empire since 1910, each team Shooting with tho miniature rifle on its own -range. The Challenge Shields, medals, and over £660 in prize money are presented by Lieut.-Colonel Raymond W. Ffennell, of South Africa. In the senior division for boys ov«r 15 years of age 820 teams entered, and in the junior 592 teams entered, representing a total of over 14,000 boys. In the senior division the', Australian Cadets have maintained their past high standard of shooting, and have again given proof of remarkable efficiency, which is clearly due to careful training by the State. The South African boys show the greatest progress compared | with the results of past years. A Company, Senior Naval Cadets, j Birkenhead, Australia, win the Senior Challenge Shield, and first prize with , an average score of 96.62 »ut of a possible 100; and No. 1 Platoon, Newtown School Cadets, Johannesburg,] South Africa (A team) win the Junior Challenge ' Shield and first prize with a score of 91.3. Altogether in the Senior Division, Australia wins 32 priies, chiefly leading ones, South Africa 15, New Zealand ,12, Great Britain 9, and Canada 4. In the Junior Division, Great Britain wins "23, South'' Africa 13, Australia 9, New Zealand 6, and Canada 1. The total number of teams entering shows an increase on the previous year, but this is largely due to the increase in the number of teams in New Zealand. In 1920 there were 68 senior and 30 junior New Zealand teams. This year thera^were 139 senior and 48 junior, making an increase of 89.
