A PITCHED BATTLE
POLICE AGAINST REPUBLICAN
FORCES.

LONDON, 21st December.
Consequent upon a kidnapping episode at Derry, the police and Republicans fought a pitched battle in the Sperrin Valley, County Tyrone, where there is a Republican camp. Six Republicans were killed and twenty wounded. The police seized ten road-mining machines, and a large quantity of arms and munitions.
