APPLICATION TO THIS SEASON

The Prims Minister was asked by Mr. C. W. Foi-bes (Hurunui)' in the House of Representatives yesterday if it were intended to bring the meat pool into operation for this season's meat. He strongly urged that this should be done.

" That- is exactly what is intended," replied tho Prime Minister. He pointer! out that this season had already commenced, 'and he did not think' it would be possible to apply the pool to arrangements that had been made or that would be made in the next two or three weeks. The question was to be submitted to a full meeting of producers immediately after the holidays. It was desired to make the pool apply to this season, but the proposal was a big one and it could not be rushed. They desired to have the best men in charge of it, and that could not always be arranged at once.
