"THE LILAC DOMINO."
"The Lilac Domino," which will be presented at the Grand Opera Houee on Saturday night next has a brilliant cast, and includes Miss Rene Maxwell (one of Australia's greatest finds), who was acclaimed by Mr. Thomas Quintan, of Grand Opera fame, to possess the finest soprano voice he had ever heard; also Claude Flemming, who has just arrived from London, where. he was engaged playing a lead opposite Jose Collins in "The Southern Maid" at Dayly's Theatre. The comedy work is in the capable hands of Mr. 'George Gee and Mr. Hugh Steyne. Miss Edith Drayson has the soubretto role, and reveals a nice quality of voice in her solos, notably "Far Your Love I am. Waiting." Mr. G-aston Mervale capably enacts the part of a Spanish gypsy. Miss Maie Baird, one of Australia's finest dancers, is in the cast, with Mr. Archie Thompson as partner, in two remarkably good dance specialties. The work of the chorus and orchestra, under Mr. Cass Downing, is said to be excellent, and the whole woductioii sparkling and vivacious. The costumes are handsome to a degree. There will be a matinee on Boxing Day. The Box Plans for the full season are now on view at the Bristol.
