A MEETING IN TOKIO.

TOKIO, 20th December.

The Opposition Party hejd a meeting at which ..it indicated the line of opposi-, tion which will be taken against the Four Power Treaty. One leader asked whether. the Western Powers did not contemplate using the Treaty as a wedge into Far Eastern affairs. Other speakers questioned the Government's lack of insight into the Washington Conference as' constituting a menace to Japan's special position in the, Far East. Other individuals discounted criticism as valueless in view of the fact that the Far Eastern discussions in Washington were' not yet completed, and added that the abrogation of the Anglo-Japanese Alliance and the ratification of. the FourPower Pact would bo a benefit to all concerned.
