HARBOUR CONTROL

MONTHLY MEETING OF THE BOARD.

The final meeting for 1921 of the Wellington Harbour Board was held last evening. Mr. J. G. Harkness presided, and others present were: —Messrs. M. Cohen, J. G. Cobbe, M. W. Welch. 11. D. Bennett, J. W. M'Ewan, J. B. MacEwan, T. Moss, C. E. Daniell, C. J. B. Norwood, G. Mitchell, M.P., and C. M. Turroll. .

The financial statement disclosed the following position : —Current' account (credit balance), £34,464 Is 3d; imprest account (credit balance), £4644 10s 4d; on fixed deposit, £118,000. Payments: For accounts, claims, and wages, £40,818 8s; for progress payments or contracts, £632 4s 3d; for salaries for December, £1633 9s 7d; total, £43,084 Is lOd.

The engineer (Mr. J. March-banks) wag authorised to call for tenders locally, and for quotation from the board's London agent for the supply of additional steel reinforcements for the Pipitea, Wharf construction, the tenders to close on 22nd March, 1922.
