A couple of happy hours wore spent by the pupils of' the KiTbirnie School and their parents in. the Kilbirnie School last evening, when 'the brealdng-up jubilations were gone through and the presentation of prizes was made. Musical items and 'recitations were given by pupils and assisting artists, who included Misses E. .tiuclanuster and L. Chapman, and Messrs. W. B. Brown, J. Farreil, and Stanley Warwick. The Kilbirnie Orchestra, under the' direction of Mi. H. Cummins, and the "Dixie Boys" also provided enjoyable items. This evening a second concert will be given at the hall, at the conclusion of which the Minister of Education (the Hon. C. J. Parr) will make a presentation on behalf of the district to Air. and Mrs. J. H. Worboys. Mr. Worboys is retiring from the position of headmaster of the Kilbirnie School after a period of many years' valuable service, and carries with him the respect and thanks of many an old boy and'girl, and the esteem of all parents in the school district.
