BOYS' CHRISTMAS CHEER
A pleasant social was held last evening in connection with the Boys' ' Institute and S. A. Rhodes Hon-.e for Boys, when the boys of tho Home were entertained by tho Ladies Auxiliary and Management Committee of the Institute. This had been made possible by thq donation received from the Commercial Travellers Association as a result of their effort* to provide Christmas cheer for established charities. Mr. G. A. Troup, the president, spoke of the Bplendid efforts of the travellers, and oaid that they had made it possible to provide gifts of clothing, ties, etc., to every boy in the Home. It was also intended to hold a. camp at Plimmerton. Ho advised the boys to emulate the spirit shown by the donors in helping others. The Commercial Travellers eparod no efforts to bring oheer to others at this time of tho year; they saw the need, and put their shoulders to the wheel, and did something worth doing, and they were the benefactors to-day. The toast of "The Commercial Travellers" was received with cheers, and Mr. W. A. Pai-ton responded. One of the boys, in a neat speech, asked the committee to convoy to the donors their appreciation of tho handsome gifts they had received, »rul for the entertainment provided.
