A NOTABLE GATHERING.
Final preparation for the big athletic carnival at the Basin Reserve on Saturday is now being made by intending competitors ,;-nnd official*, and there is every prospect of sufficient support to enable a good team to be sent to the Australasian championships. ,■' With noted competitors from Auckland, Canterbury, Wariganui, Manawatu, and Wairarapa, in .addition to the brilliant talent that Wellington is putting in the field, the public ahould get good value for their money, and all that is now required to ensure success is a fine afternoon.
Mr, L. M'Kay, ex-pole vault and- field events champion, has been appointed manager of-the Wellington team for the' New Zealand championships. The team will be chosen on Saturday. ■ .
