AUCKLAND, 21st November. At the Supreme Court the Crown Prosecutor sought at , the Supreme Court to estreat the baij which Thomas C.^ Nicholson, frozen-meat works employee, provided for v the liberation of David M. Todd,.a well-known criminal, who afterwards left for Australia.
Nicholson was described as a decent man taken in. by a gang of criminals. It was stated that he provided Todd's bail at the request of a friend whom he met'at the war.
The Judge said an important principle was involved; the bail must be estreated.
