OUTBREAK OF FIRE ON A STEAMER

(BY TSLEORAPH.—PRESS ASSOCIATION.) AUCKLAND, This Day. An outbreak of fire occurred in No. 3 hold on the City of Chester on, Ist November on the voyage from New York to Auckland. The hold was flooded, but not till la** Friday evening was the fire effectually extinguished. There was petrol and other cargo in the adjoining hold, but fortunately the fire did not extend. The vessel was not damaged.
