The employeeß of the Canterbury Petroleum Prospecting Company; which was recently obliged to oease operations owing to a rising of quicksandi in thd bore at Ohertsey, are now engaged in removing casing from the bore. It) ia reported that about half the total am&uat of casing put into the well can he recovered. Only those portions of the various sized casings which are witMa larger casings can be lif todi out, but those portions which, have been actually driven into the well must be allbwed to remain.
