BAIL REFUSED
"QUITE EASY TO GET AWAY.'?
Gerard Corvissiano appeared before Mr. F. K. Hunt, S.M., at the Magistrate's Court to-day to answer four charges of making false documents at Hastings. Corvissiano was previously before the Court on one charge, and bail was then allowed. This morning Chief Detective Ward said that aa fresh informations had been issued, He would ask that discretion should be used in the matter of bail.
Mr. J. Soott, who appeared for the accused,' said ho intended to apply for bail. The conditions could be very strict,; and Corvissiano could, if necessary, report to the police twice daily. It was quite impossible for the mm to get away. The Magistrate: "Oh, I don't know. It's quite easy. Is he a married man?" Mr. Scott: "Yes, but he is living apart from his wife." N The Magirtrate: "Well, it won't do him any harm to stay in the Terrace Gaol until Friday. Bail is refused." Corvissiano was remanded in oustody until Friday next.
