BUTTER AT 2s PER POUND.
LONDON, Ist October. The butter position looks somewhat more hopeful. Retailers are getting rid of highpriced stocks which they bought when the Government rnsiied prices up, and now that the latest reduction makes it possible to sell best "New Zealand at about 2s per lb, there is a probability that the consumptive demand will improve.
