SUBURBS.

-The Suburbs Defence Rifle Club opened its shooting season on Saturday afternoon at Treiitham. „The afternoon was devoted to teams' shooting at ranges 200 and 300 yards. The ranges andi targets this year at Trentham are- in perfect condition, which reflects the greatest credit on the range warden, Sergt. J. Hunter, and hia staff. The weather conditions' at times were bad, the changing light troubling the; marksmen. . The best score- for the day was made by Rifleman W. Haase, who notched, on 94—46 at 200 yards and 48 at 300 yards. Haase easily secured top place at 300 yards, and also the beat score for the day. Another notable score was put up by Cadet I. Bertram, who scored 48 at 200 yards and 42 at 300 yards, with a. grand total for the day of 90. Six members secured 90 and over for the day. The members of the club took advantage on Saturday on the range of wishing Mr. C Whiteman the best of good luck and good-bye, on his leaving the Suburbs Club to join up with the Upper Hutt. Next Saturday, the club will commence, a series of teams', shooting, at ranges 300 and [ 500 yards, 10 shots at each range. ' PRESIDENT'S TEAM.
