THREATENING WEATHER

The weather outlook remains threatening. For holiday-makers the week-end was spoilt by the damp and boisterous conditions, but the half-inch of rain which fell in the Wellington district is fully apreciated by farmers and gardeners. The barometer has continued high in the north, but the high pressure phase is passing, and increasing easterly winds are expected in the northern districts, with north-westerly winds, squally at times, in other parts. Cloudy weather is likely to continue.
