COOK-CARPENTIER MATCH.
LONDON, '9th September. I to the cabled comment in^ the Australian sporting papers express-^ ing' astonishment at the choice of George Cook to oppose Carpentier, Mr. Lucas (Cook's manager) points out that Eugene Corri, J. Hulls, Bettinson, and other sporting authorities have spoken and written in the highest terms of Cook's fighting. Surely they are in a better position to judge the chances against Carpentier than Australian writers who have never seen the Frenchman fight.
