PARAMOUNT AND ARTCRAFT.
Dealing entertainingly with psychological questions of the day, such as power of telepathy, mental suggestion, hypnotism, and pre-natal influence, "The Witching Hour," a Paramount picture, based on Augustus Thomas's famous play of the same name, was shown to large audiences at the Paramount and Artcraft Theatres last night. The picture scored heavily, because of its intrinsic merit as a production, and because of the superiority of the cast, which includes such players as Elliot Dexter, Winter Hall, Ruth Renick, and Mary Alden. Beautiful bits of English scenery are a feature in "The Call of Youth," the second attraction.. The picture is interesting from other points of view than the pictorial. The story is engrossingly human, and the characters are natural and consistent. The all-Eng-lish cast is headed by Ben Webster, Harry Gwynne, and Malcolm Cherry.
