Behind the surprising expedition with which the progress scores of the first Test -\yere posted at Athletic Park, there is something which has given the secretary of the Wellington \R^ugby 'Union (Mr. 'F. J. M'Comisky) good reason to feel gratified at the result of his efforts to receive the messages as promptly as possible. This is a new record which has been establiuhed in the despatch of messages:, The first was sent from, Dune.

The question of gymnasium funds was discussed at this week's meeting of the W.R.IT. Management Committee, and players will be interested to know that it is being kept steadily in view. The following is from the Manawatu Herald: "Included in,the Wellington B representatives is a nippy and clever three-quarter, in the person of Roy Bullard, son of Mr. W. E. Bullard, and an ex-Foxton schoolboy. 'Roy' is only 19 years of age, but a born toe-baller. He inherits the Rugby strain from his father, ,who was a member of the crack Poneke team in the days of Ellison, Sid. iNicholls, and Co. Roy was playing fourth-grade football a couple of years back, but has been quickly promoted to first-grade as a member of the Athletics first fifteen. ' If he keeps on as ho is going, there is. every prospect of his winning an All Black jersey within the next two seasons."

E. King (Poneke), playing as fiveeighths for Wellington against Wangs.nui on Wednesday, put up a great goal-kicking performance. He- was responsible for 19 of the 37 points scored, converting six tries, potting a goal, and scoring a try. R. C. Bailey, a son of Mr. 8.. T. Bailey, chairman of thie Wellington Referees' Association and a member of. the N.Z.R.U. Committee, is a young player with a future. Playing in a ■ college farm match this week h» scored seven tries.
