The assessors for Miners' Unions in Otago-Sonthland mining dispute, in which the men were cited by the employers, did not appear before the Conciliation Council this morning. THe Commissioner; (Mr. Hagger) said he. would ad- • vise the unions to appoint assessors, and if they did not he would himself appoint them. If the assessors did not turn up the dispute would go,before the Courtas one in which, no recommendation was made. ■ ' . ' ' Mr.- T. O. Bishop, acting-secretary of the Mine-owners' Association, said that lie had been notified by the federation ; that it would not recognise the Arbitration Court.
