DETECTING FIRE-DAMP
A NEW INVENTION.

A new invention called a methomometer, capable of automatically recording a fractional percentage of fire-damp in mines, has passed final tests of the Home Office. Its use is expected to reduce the risk of mine explosions' to. a minimum.
