LONDON, 3rd August. Sir R. S. Home (President of the Board of Trade) informed Mr. Clynes that Cabinet had decided in view of Departmental replies to the Treasury's economy circular ft> appoint a select committee of business men to'deal with reductions in-■■ expenditure. Sir Eric Geddes, who is resigning his portfolio of Minister for Transport shortly, has undertaken to devote the -whole of his time for the remainder of the year to the committee's work.
