'At the Maranoa by-election, to fill the vacancy in the Federal House caused by Mr. Page's' death, Mr. Hunter, the Country Party's nominee, has established an apparently unassailable lead over the Labourite. Labour's cftfeat is considered significant in con junction with the results of the late municipal eleeitions.
