Thirteen new branches have been opened during the year, the bank vow having J72 branched throughout Australia, New Zealand, ami in London. The bank started in New Zealand, September, 1912, in Wellington. It now has branches in "Wellington, Auckland, Dunedin, Christchurch, Wanganui, Invercargill, Palmerston North, Gisborne, Timaru, and Ne\* Brighton.
The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency CompanjVLtd., reports having held its weekly sale at Levin, on Tuesday in pouring rain and driving uleet. There was an average yarding of sheep and store cattle, but a very large entry of dairy stock and a small offering of pigs. These latter sold very well, bpt sheep were hard to quit at any price. Store cattle, as of late, were neglected, and owing to the large entry of dairy cattle these also were difficult of sale. They quote:—Store pigs, £2 to ,<J2 7s 6; porkers, £3 19s; ewe.hoggets, 8s to 8s 6d; ewes in lamb to Southdown, 11s; forward store cows,. £3 10s; two-year steers, £2 14s: dairy cows, £5 to £14 15s; dairy heifers, £3tp £4 10s.
